Frequently
Asked Questions

How
can I book SheBoom?
We operate a sliding fee structure. Talk to a member of our Contact Team:
We encourage you to complete a booking form as it helps provide basic initial
information
and speeds up the booking process.
Does
SheBoom run beginner classes?
Yes.
As part of our community involvement, SheBoom organises classes about
once a year. Contact us with your details and we will put you on a waiting list. Classes
start when there is enough demand for one. No previous experience
necessary. Tuition, drums and sticks provided.

How
can I join SheBoom?
All
women welcome. Get in touch with SheBoom and put your name on the waiting list. All wannabes
have to attend Baby Boomer classes first. Due to some venues, we insist
that women are at least 16 years old. No upper age limit. Latest intake workshops took place in Feb 2011.

Why
are there no men in SheBoom?
The
same reason why there were no women in the Beatles.
However, we have women-friendly, male helpers and supporters who come
and help out - mainly holding handbags, running for coffee
and other equally important jobs. Rehearsals on Friday evenings are
women-only unless by prior arrangement.

Where
can I listen to SheBoom?
Listen
to some samples from our CD or better still buy one for yourself. Watch out for forthcoming
gigs. You never know, we might be performing nearby. Once, a German
fan travelled to Spain to see us play!

Is
SheBoom a lesbian band?
SheBoom
is a womens band and it is made up of women of different sexualities.
We are of different ethnicities, nationalities, abilities,
sizes, ages, beliefs, political persuasions, educational and cultural
backgrounds. We even have non-pierced, menopausal, meat-eaters.
SheBoom is proud to invest in diversity.

Is
SheBoom political?
Although
SheBoom has performed in several political arenas, the band is apolitical.
As a general rule of thumb, the band supports any non-discriminatory,
non-violent, women-friendly campaign.

Can
SheBoom play at our event?

Is
SheBoom a secret society?
It
may be but no one will comment. Dan Brown is still investigating.

Is
SheBoom rich?
SheBoom
is a non-profit making, self-supporting collective. All sums earned
are spent on drumming tuition, hire of rehearsal rooms, purchase and
maintenance of instruments, carnival costumes, administration and
publicity costs. We have no salaried staff and band members do not
derive an income from band earnings. Donations
and sponsorships are welcome.
