Samba Patterns

The driving beat or groove or clave of samba is as follows. It is absolutely essential that the first and last sixteenth note are always emphasized.

Three common drums are used in parades in the annual festival known as Carnival. The largest drum is the surdo, the midsize is called repinique, and the smallest is the caixa. SheBoom play instruments such as those used in Carnival.
